when the valve is usually shut and there is vacuum in the tank, the vacuum piston within the valve opens
automatically and attracts air into the tank. In return, this retains the pressure inside and outside the house the tank well balanced.
From the Pressure side, when the valve is generally shut and the tank stress exceeds the rated pressure
on the outside of the valve, the valve automatically opens and vents air to atmosphere.
